Tending to What Keeps Us Well
November has a way of asking us to slow down. The days are shorter, the air is colder, and it seems like everyone knows someone who’s fighting off ‘the crud’ or trying to shake that run-down feeling.
This time of year can be a good reminder that caring for ourselves isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s getting to bed a little earlier, taking a break when we need one, moving our bodies in a way that feels good, slow sipping some tea or homemade soup, or spending an hour in the company of others.
At The Well, we believe there are many ways to tend to our well-being. And they don’t all look the same.
A Look Back at October
October brought a little bit of everything to The Well!
We shared a beautiful Sound Bath with Jenny, Nadine & Val, explored the upside-down world of inversions with Rosie’s Bottoms Up workshop, and welcomed Lana’i for her very first event with us—a women’s circle called Recuerdo (Remember) – Survival to Self.
And then there was a little Halloween fun! Rosie’s Friday night Thriller class took their moves out of the studio and into the streets of downtown Port Angeles, performing a flash mob-style routine for Halloween weekend. Such a fun way to share a little of what happens inside The Well with the community!
We love seeing the space come alive in so many different ways, and we’re grateful to everyone who joined us, shared their gifts, and helped make October what it was.
Finding Our Rhythm in the Changing Season
As we move deeper into autumn and settle into the time change, it’s a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with our natural rhythms. Just as the trees release their leaves, the light softens, and the earth begins to slow, our bodies are also invited into a different pace. We are not separate from nature; we are nature. Seasonal transitions can influence our energy, sleep, mood, and desire for movement or rest. Rather than pushing ourselves to maintain the same pace year-round, we can practice listening more closely to what our bodies need and allowing ourselves a little more spaciousness, softness, and restoration.
A few simple ways to support your body’s seasonal adjustment:
Meet the morning light. Step outside shortly after waking, even for 5–10 minutes. Natural morning light helps synchronize our circadian rhythm and supports healthy sleep-wake cycles.
Reconnect with the earth. Take a mindful walk, feel your feet on the ground, breathe in the cool autumn air, and let nature remind you that slowing down is part of living.
Move with intention. Establish a gentle, consistent movement routine—yoga, stretching, walking, or breathwork—to help your body find a familiar rhythm. Choose movement that nourishes rather than depletes.
Honor the evening. As the sun sets, begin dimming the lights in your home. Warm, softer lighting and less screen exposure in the hour or two before bed can help signal to your nervous system that it’s time to wind down.
Create steady anchors. Consistent wake times, nourishing meals, movement, and bedtime rituals help our internal clocks find stability as the season shifts.
Give yourself permission to slow down. More rest, earlier evenings, and gentler expectations aren’t signs of falling behind; they’re an invitation to attune to the season.
May this changing season remind us that our rhythms are meant to evolve, and that sometimes the most nourishing thing we can do is simply listen, soften, and move with the natural cadence of life.

The Well is a little tucked away, and there’s something lovely about having a space where you can step out of the noise of everyday life for a while. But we don’t want to be too hidden!
If you haven’t visited in a while, consider this your invitation to come back. Try a class you haven’t taken before, settle into a familiar favourite, or bring a friend who could use a little time for themselves, too.
As the season changes, we hope you find what helps you feel supported, connected, and well. We’d love to see you at The Well.
With Warmth,
