In the Flow
June 2026 | Issue 08
Hello from all of us at The Well!
As we move into June, you might notice the fullness of the season building more and more—longer days, busy calendars, more activity, more movement, more noise. Summer carries so much beauty with it, but it can also pull our attention in many directions at once. Alongside the joy and energy of this time of year, many of us are also navigating the intensity of family dynamics, political tension, personal transitions, and the emotional weight that can come with constant connection.
This month, we’re reflecting on what it means to stay grounded as life gets louder. To pause. To breathe. To find small moments of rest and presence amidst it all. Whether it’s a walk outside, a quiet cup of tea, five deep breaths, or an afternoon swaying gently in a hammock, calm is not something we achieve once and hold onto forever—it’s something we practice returning to, again and again.

In Reflection, with Val (RN & Reiki Practitioner)
I believe that the healing journey is lifelong, with countless lessons to learn. For the past couple of months, I have been closely paying attention to my upper back, which seems to be a weak spot for me. The back side of the body energetically represents those aspects of ourselves that we may not clearly understand. The aspects that are hidden under denial, invisible to the conscious self. For me, the back of my heart chakra is wounded and the deeper issues behind this remain hidden to me. Even though it is a challenge to look at these uncomfortable parts of myself, I slowly do so. When we look with humble honor, we can shed the layers that hold us back from living our full lives. Personally, my method of healing this area of denial is to first and foremost, be open to what comes up. I practice being gentle and forgiving of myself. I have also been practicing to request help, such as asking my partner to place his hand on this area and rest with me. I also lay my hands on that area (a bit awkwardly!) and channel self-Reiki, and I allow the sunshine to warm my back as much as possible! I encourage those who want to deepen their healing work to avoid becoming small during challenges, to remain strong and steady on your path with an open mind and gentle spirit. Those hidden aspects will show themselves when ready.

Heated Yoga is BACK for June! (*no class 6/12)
Fridays @ 5:30PM w/ Jenny Houston
This version of Heated Yoga is a set sequence of standing and floor postures, practiced in warm room. This class is designed to repeatedly elevate the heart rate, and then recover in a mindful, steady way.
For the summer, Fridays will alternate months
Heated Yoga: June, August
Fierce Flow: July, September
Also… Rest & Restore with Jenny is back on the calendar! Saturdays @ 11AM, starting 6/13.
As part of Jenny’s Body & Soul Summer, her focus for June is ‘Wild Heart‘.
Theme: Expansion, connection, & openness
Body Focus: Heart, chest, & shoulders

A Simple Practice to ‘Return to Yourself’
When things feel loud, fast, or emotionally charged, try this:
Before reacting, fixing, scrolling, or responding—
Pause.
Feel your feet on the floor.
Take one slower breath than usual.
Look around the room and name 3 things you can see.
Not to escape life—but to return to yourself within it.
Calm isn’t something we find once and keep forever.
It’s something we practice returning to.
