December invites us into a quieter rhythm—one that asks us to soften, remember what matters, and reconnect with our inner warmth. As the days grow darker, our practice becomes a lantern, helping us navigate both the magic and the complexity of the season. At The Well, we honor this time as a threshold: a chance to breathe deeply, ground ourselves, and move through the month with intention rather than urgency. As we move through December, we want to remind you that your practice doesn’t need to be perfect, structured, or even lengthy to be meaningful. What matters most is your willingness to return—to your breath, to your body, to yourself. This season can stir up so much: joy, overwhelm, nostalgia, longing, tenderness. Let your practice be an anchor rather than another item on your to-do list.

Every time you choose presence, even for a moment, you create space for healing. You create space for truth. And you create space for a softer, more sustainable way of being. Thank you for showing up in whatever way you can. We’ll be honored to move through this season with you.

The holidays can be a time of profound loneliness, sadness, and isolation—a season when the absence of loved ones for whatever reason feels heavier than ever. If your heart is heavy with pain, loss or struggle, know that you are not alone. We invite you to join us for a Holiday Grief Circle, a sacred time of healing, connection, love, and remembrance. This is a sanctuary, a soft and safe place to land, where your pain is honored, and your spirit is held.
Prepare your heart for this gathering as you would create a sacred space, wrap a gift, or write a love letter. This is holy ground. Through gentle movement, healing sound, intentional breath, and heart-centered writing, we will guide you to shine a light on the hidden places within—those tender spaces longing to be named, to be remembered and to be held.

Flow in the Dark w/ Celeste Schoenthaler
Saturday, December 13th, 7PM

Join Celeste for a fun, vibrant class where we’ll blend movement, warmth, and glow accessories to create an atmosphere that feels equal parts grounding and uplifting. Think glowing body markers, necklaces, and a space that invites you to giggle, get curious, and embrace the magic of the dark. As we approach the Winter Solstice—the darkest night of the year—I wanted to offer something energizing, joyful, and a little unexpected. This Glow-in-the-Dark Warm Yoga Flow is all about shaking off the heaviness of winter, reconnecting to your inner light, and letting yourself play on the mat.

Why come?
Because it feels good to try something new. Because community matters. Because moving together under the glow is a beautiful way to honor the turning of the season.

Why I’m offering it:
This class is a celebration—and a chance to give back. It’s donation-based, with all proceeds going to the Port Angeles Food Bank, supporting our neighbors during a time of year when it’s needed most.

A soothing 75-minute sound journey to help you exhale before the holidays. Sink into stillness and let waves of sound wash over you. This immersive sound bath is an invitation to unwind, restore, and realign through the soothing vibrations of crystal bowls, chimes, and gentle instruments.

New Moon Somatic Space w/ Izzy Zucker

Theme: Earth in Our Bones

New Moon Somatic Space is a monthly movement gathering honoring bodies—individual, planetary, and collective. Izzy weaves somatic awareness, dance, and gentle movement with the rhythm of the season—offering a ritual space that’s both rooted in the ancestral practice of Rosh Chodesh, yet personal to each participant. 

You can expect movements and postures curated to the season’s theme; guidance to move intuitively, improvisationally, and safely—letting the body lead; reflection and intention-setting; a potent playlist; and a grounded space to just be, exactly as you are.All bodies, abilities, and experience levels are warmly welcomed. This gathering is offered in the spirit of the gift economy, with reciprocity encouraged.

Winter Solstice Celebration at The Well
108 Sun Salutations
Sunday, December 21
10:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Join us at The Well for a powerful and heart-opening Winter Solstice celebration as we turn toward the light together. In this sacred practice, we will journey through 108 Sun Salutations, traditionally offered as a ritual of renewal, release, and welcome for the returning sun.

Move at your own pace—flow through all 108 or pause whenever you need. You are invited to rest, meditate, journal, or receive gentle Reiki healing energy throughout the ceremony. This is a personal practice held within a collective field of support.

This special event will be co-taught by several instructors from The Well, weaving together guidance, presence, and communal warmth. Whether you come for the full flow, the intention-setting, the healing energy, or the stillness, your presence is part of the magic.

Chakra Education 8-week Series
2nd & 4th Thursdays @ 12PM
*starting January 8th, 2026 (ends 4/23/26)

The Chakra Education 8-week series is an in-depth exploration of the human energy field and will break down the seven main chakras by connecting each to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspect of living. Every class will provide an overview of science that supports the existence of the energy field and the vital role it plays in health and wellness. Discussion, meditation, journaling, as well as optional gentle stretching will be incorporated. A group Reiki session will be offered during each class with the intention of mending your energy field. Students may choose to sit in a chair or sit on the floor. 

Val will also be offering private Reiki sessions and Usui Reiki certification trainings.

December Reflections & Journal Prompts

December naturally invites us inward. As the year softens to a close, it becomes easier to hear the quieter truths we’ve been carrying. These journal reflections are here to help you pause, breathe, and honor the journey you’ve lived—your growth, your lessons, your resilience, and your becoming. Take your time, light a candle if you’d like, and let these prompts meet you exactly where you are.

You might like to pair your reflection with our suggested Practice at Home: ‘Softening into the Season’.

1. What did I discover about myself this year that surprised me?
2. Where did I grow stronger? Where did I soften?
3. Which moments or choices from 2025 feel significant in hindsight?
4. What (or who) am I ready to release with gratitude?
5. Where in my life do I feel most aligned right now?
6. What do I want to bring more of into 2026—energy, habits, boundaries, desires, relationships, creativity?
7. What word or intention feels like a guiding star for the new year ahead?

Practice at Home
“Softening Into the Season” (10–12 minutes)

1. Arrive (1 minute)
Sit comfortably. Place one hand on the belly, one on the heart.
Take three spacious breaths, letting your exhale be a little longer than your inhale.

2. Shoulder & Heart Unwind (2 minutes)
Roll the shoulders slowly.
Lift the chest slightly and imagine widening the collarbones.
With each exhale, imagine releasing one layer of “holiday bracing.”

3. Forward Fold Release (2–3 minutes)
Move into a gentle standing or seated forward fold.
Allow the weight of the head and arms to draw you inward, as if you’re bowing to your own inner light.
Stay for 5–8 breaths.

4. Supported Child’s Pose, Reclined Butterfly, Savasana (3 minutes)
Choose the shape your body asks for.
Breathe into the back ribs.
Imagine your breath spreading warmth through your whole being.

5. Quiet Sit + Word of the Month (2 minutes)
Sit tall, eyes soft.
Ask: What quality do I want to embody this month?
Let one word arise—peace, clarity, gentleness, boundaries, rest, joy, spaciousness.
Whisper it on your exhale three times.
